Our History

Founder Robert Luciano PE

Luciano Packaging Technologies was founded by Robert A Luciano in 1987 to serve the packaging and automation needs of industrial clients. After graduating from The NJ Institute Of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical engineering and a M.S. degree. His work in industry began in 1951 where over time he worked on mechanical engineering projects, special machinery packaging, and product engineering. He started Luciano Packaging Technologies in 1987 to serve clients who had long sought his advice on packaging technology. When Robert retired he passed on the business to his son Larry.

Robert has been a senior member of the Society Of Manufacturing Engineers, a senior member of the Robotics Institute and is a licensed professional engineer. He has served on numerous industry committees, holds a number of patents and is a member of the Packaging Hall Of Fame.

Robert built a company composed of experts in a variety of fields. That commitment to excellence remains a cornerstone of Luciano Packaging Technologies today.

President Larry Luciano

Lawrence W. Luciano has been in the packaging and automation field since 1972, serving as Vice President Of Operations at Robert A. Luciano Associates, and then with Luciano Packaging Technologies since its inception in 1990. The company is an applied engineering firm established to perform the various functions of packaging line integration. As a co-founder with his father Robert, they built the firm into the international supplier of packaging and automation technology. Larry was named president in 2000, succeeding his father

Throughout his career Mr. Luciano has specialized in the design, development and manufacture of special packaging and production automation equipment. He has designed and developed a large number a variety of packaging lines, and packaging related operations and has supervised the installations and integration of many of these systems. He is expert in the areas of packaging line design, conveyor systems, accumulator systems and automatic machinery design. He has a strong industrial design background and is expert in both packaging and design.

Mr. Luciano was educated at Syracuse University and at the Central School of Art and Design in London, England. He holds a B.I.D. in Industrial Design and has completed courses at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Management. He is an active professional member and a frequent lecturer with the Institute of Packaging Professionals and has also served as an officer in several technical committees in that organization. He is a co-founder and past Chairman of the Packaging Equipment and Performance (PEP) technical committee.
